Top-down drone tour of the 110 kV Żabiniec - Borynia overhead power line
Recently, we used a drone to make a top-down tour of the 110 kV overhead power line. During the work, we verified the quality of assembly of linear equipment, including:
- insulator strings
- connection of chains with the structure
- slings for working cables and lightning conductors
- protection system e.g. cotter pins
- braids
- vibration damping
- construction of bridges
- ground connections
- screw connections
The purpose of the top-down round using the drone was to check the correctness of the work performed, find any elements that need to be improved before the final acceptance of the power line, and always prevent failures in advance, i.e. verify the security measures in the form of correct installation of cotter pins or bending of the protective washers.
